Let us all be honest. Season three of True Blood was sub par. It started out strong, but it fizzled out by the finale. I am hoping that Alan Ball has stepped it up for season four. He has no reason not to. Book four in the Sookie Stackhouse series, Dead To The World is one of my favorites. He has good source material this season.

I am not a music snob. I like all kinds of music as long as it is has quality. There is such a thing as quality pop, and Jessie J makes quality pop music. As a solo artist she's relatively new, but she just won the Critics Choice Award at the 2011 Brit Award. It's a big deal. Previous winners include: Florence + The Machine, Ellie Goulding, and Adele. She also won BBC's Sound Of 2011 award. Previous Sound Of... award winners include: 50 Cent, Keane, The Bravery, Corrine Bailey Rae, Mika, Adele, Little Boots, and Ellie Goulding. She's fierce, and I really dig her sound. Price Tag is her second single and it features B.O.B. Jessie J will make her US television debut on Saturday Night Live, March 26th.

Target Makes Deal With Lady Gaga To Stop Funding Anti-Gay Groups

Gaga can steal as many Madonna songs as she wants as long as she continues to use her powers for good!

Lady Gaga has made a deal with Target to release an exclusive special edition of her new single Born This Way, and in return the department store agreed to stop funding discriminatory anti-LGBT groups.

The company has in the past donated considerable sums to organisations that support those who discriminate or even advocate death and violence to gays. Now Lady Gaga has forced the retail chain to “make amends” and donate to gay rights groups.

Although the chief executive of Target, Gregg Steinhafel, apologised for the donation, the company has donated to other right wing candidates with anti-gay records. Target does pay benefits to same sex partners of employees.

Now, following a meeting with Lady Gaga, the company has promised to stop the donations and give to LGBT groups.

“That discussion was one of the most intense conversations I’ve ever had in a business meeting,” Lady Gaga said. “Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they’ve made in the past … our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they’ve made supporting those [antigay] groups.”

The company has committed $500,000 to LGBT community projects, although that is a tiny fraction of the $156 million it donates every year to ‘community efforts’.

“We, as a company, are considering and taking very — it is part of our hearts to care about this issue. It’s who we are. Around this, we’ve established this policy committee because we understand the importance of decisions like this one and we want to be more thoughtful. We said that we’re giving almost half a million dollars already in 2011 because we want to demonstrate our commitment to the LGBT community,” Dustee Tucker Jenkins, vice president of Target told Billboard magazine.

This is awesome. Now I don't have to feel bad about shopping at Target! If only Lady Gaga could make the same deal with Chick Fil A. I really love their chicken sandwiches and sweet tea, but I promised myself I wouldn't patronize them as long as they continued to be homophobic twats.

Tonight I remembered that terrible song section does not beget a terrible episode of Glee. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this week's episode, Blame It On The Alcohol. Though he didn't sing in the episode Kurt returned after his painful absence last week. And despite the fact that at one point he was wearing a club collar shirt with a knit tie, his presence definitely added to the quality of the episode.

I enjoy any episode that realistically features teens getting crunk, because that shit is FUNNY. I seriously regret not videotaping my friends and I getting sauced on Smirnoff Ices when we were sophomoric adolescents. One time my friend was convinced to take a shot of Malibu rum, and she projectile vomited all over the bathroom mirror at my mom's condo. Another time my friend and were drinking coke mixed with Captain Morgan Parrot Bay and I convinced him to ride his razor scooter on his dad's treadmill. Needless to say she spent the night face down in the toilet, and he acquired the worst case of carpet burn I have ever seen. My point (other than the fact that teenagers really enjoy coconut rum) is that while teen drinking may be illegal, it is also highly amusing.

I'm not going to lie and say that Pink Friday is one of my favorite albums, but I will say that I find Nicki Minaj to be extremely interesting. She has a lot of moxie, and she's certainly unique.

Nicki is featured in the current issue of BlackBlook magazine. Here are some snippets from the article.

I typically don't listen to a lot of hip-hop these days, because I really feel like the genre has gone stale. I only pay attention to the artists that are releasing truly unique and original tracks that have substance. Lupe Fiasco is one of those artists. His new track, Words I Never Said is fantastic. The first time I listened to it I heard the lyric, "9/11 building 7 did they really pull it," and I knew instantly that this song had significance. Aside from the talents of Lupe Fiasco, the song features Skylar Grey, a name that has been popping up a lot lately. Skylar has been featured on Diddy-Dirty Money's song Coming Home, and she recently accompanied Dr. Dre and Eminem on stage at the Grammys. Her voice is fantastic, and I really hope the recent buzz manifests in to a album.

My favorite technology blog, Gizmodo reported a "strong rumor" today that alleges Apple will announce the iPad 2 on March 2. Gizmodo have outlined their predictions on the iPad 2 aka iPadHD. The outline includes dual cameras and an SD card slot. They also think Apple is doubling the display resolution on the new iPad.

I got an iPad for Christmas and there hasn't been a day since that I haven't used it. I'm definitely considering getting the next generation iPad. I love the one I have now, but I want to take it to the next level by getting one with more storage and a 3G sim card.

Girls Aloud Might Be Reuniting For A 2012 World Tour

The Daily Star is alleging that Girls Aloud will be reuniting next year for a world tour to celebrate their tenth anniversary. The UK tabloid says that the tour will occur after Cheryl Cole cracks America when she joins Simon Cowell on the US X Factor as a judge. A source tell The Daily star, “Cheryl could be a US superstar by then if her appearance on American X Factor goes according to plan this autumn, so they want to capitalise on that. It will also be the band’s 10-year anniversary in 2012, so the timing is just perfect."

In reality I doubt this will happen. I think they will eventually reunite, because they still have a record deal with Polydor, but there is no way they are getting a world tour! Even if Cheryl become a judge on US X Factor, and even if she blows up in America, it will be Cheryl as a solo act. Furthermore Nadine will be overwrought with jealousy, and continue to hold out.

Trust me when I say that I've probably loved Adele longer than you. Just check out the Adele tag on BLOG! For Your life, and you will see that my adoration dates back to March, 2008. Being that I've been invested in Adele's music for almost three years, I am so relieved that she wasn't a flash in the pan. Her new album, 21 is marvelous. The first single off the album, Rolling In The Deep gets better every time I listen to it. I'm going to gush a little bit more, and say that the video is stunning. Girl is serving fish, and it ain't trout!

REVIEW! For Your Life: I Am Number Four

Before the first teaser trailer for I Am Number Four was released, I had already downloaded the book to my iPad. I had just finished The Hunger Games trilogy and was looking for a new series to get in to. That was over five months ago, and I still haven't finished the book, but I'm pretty sure that's because I've had the attention span of a gnat lately. Nonetheless I'm definitely going to finish the book, now that I've seen the movie.

The plot of I Am Number Four is mediocre. Teen aliens with cool powers. Dunzo. That's pretty much all you need to know, especially in this time of Hollywood-teen-angst-over-saturation. However the movie has it's moments. What the movie lacks in story, it makes up for in action. The fight sequences and special effects were really well done in this movie.

I enjoyed I Am Number Four, and I think most people will. If I didn't want a sequel I would tell you to wait and rent it when it becomes available. However there is a part of me that is a sucker for garish movies with no aesthetic substance, and that part of me is pumped for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, and wants a sequel to I Am Number Four.

PS. The soundtrack to this movie was shockingly good. There were songs from The Black Keys, Adele, and The XX. Three artists I emphatically endorse.

I really liked the first two episodes coming off the hiatus, Sue Sylvester Shuffle, and Silly Love Songs. However last week's episode, Comeback was crap. Maybe I'm biased because I don't particularly enjoy any episode with little to no Kurt. Regardless it was jank. The song selection was bad, and the A and B storylines were so dull and indulgent. I really enjoy Batman, and I'm so pumped for the next Christopher Nolan directed Batman flick, The Dark Knight Rises. However it seems like Nolan is just adding every Batman character he can to the movie. It was confirmed that Anne Hathaway will be playing Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, and that Tom Hardy will be playing Bane. Now it's been confirmed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing Roman Sionis aka Black Mask and that Lukas Haas will be playing Alberto Falcone. There was even a rumor that Nolan is casting Marion Cotillard as Thalia al Ghul. It's just starting to seem like a cluster fuck.

Is anyone there? If you are, I am beyond shocked!

My posting has been really sporadic lately. I'm sorry about that. If anyone still checks up on me, I just want you to know I love you. I have to be honest, I've kinda fallen out of love with writing about entertainment news and celebrity gossip. Don't get me wrong. I still love reading it. I just don't like writing about it anymore. BLOG! For Your Life has been such an interesting part of my life, and I will always carry it with me. That's part of the reason I want to be finished. I loved working on this website so much that I want to honor it and not do such a poor job with the up keep... I'm having a really hard time explaining this. Essentially, I will not be writing on BLOG! For Your Life anymore. I just decided this when I realized my domain name had lapsed, and it didn't bother me. I'm not deleting it. I love it too much to do that. I just wanted to say that BLOG! For Your Life as an endeavor is over. I love all of my readers. I love all of the cool people I've met from running this website. I'm thankful for all of the amazing opportunities that this website has given me. I just feel like, if you don't love what you're doing, you shouldn't do it anymore.

This song is definitely a change of pace for Paramore. Most of their songs are high energy, fast, and loud. However the The Only Exception is their first ballad. Though it may slower than their typical single, the third single off of their new album has the band's singnature moving lyrics, and lead singer, Hayley's fantastic voice.

Robert Pattinson is on the March 2010 issue of Details Magazine. This issue also marks the 10th anniversary of Details.

When I read the ridiculous things Robert Pattinson says, I wonder if he's just take the piss out of everyone, or if he's really just naive about the things he says, and to be honest I can't decide if I prefer the former or the latter. In the new issue of Details, Robert Pattinson poses for some extremely steamy pictures (check out the gallery below) featuring several naked women paying him attention. In the interview Robert had some interesting things to say about the photoshoot.

"I really hate vaginas. I'm allergic to vagina. But I can't say I had no idea, because it was a 12-hour shoot, so you kind of get the picture that these women are going to stay naked after, like, five or six hours. But I wasn't exactly prepared. I had no idea what to say to these girls. Thank God I was hungover."

He goes on to say the only serious relationship he can take on at the moment is the one he shares with his dog, "The only emotional connection of relevance is with my dog. My relationship with my dog, it's ridiculous."

Where I go to school there's this debate amongst our Psych Professors about whether animals think and have emotions. My one professors says that in the world of Psychology, animals do not have emotions and thoughts because you can't prove it with empirical evidence. My other Professor taught this Animal Minds class and she swears up and down that animals do have emotions and do think and she can prove it. I didn't take that class, so I'm pretty much on the fence. Personally, I think my dog has emotions and thoughts. I can also see that we as humans have a tendency to anthropomorphize animals and things. Then again, I think it's pretty arrogant of human beings to think that we are the only species capable of thought and emotion. Regardless, I saw this video today (via Spicy Pants at Celebrity Smack) and I shifted in my perspective on animal emotion and cognition. Clearly, the dog is not crying, but the clip raises the issue of longing in animals. Do animals have the capacity to miss things and people? Definitely worth looking in to.

I am not a huge hip hop fan. It's not that I don't respect it as an art form. There are definitely some hip-hop artists that I enjoy. These days it just seems like rappers only want to talk about misogyny, violence, cars, and money, and that shit gets old and redundant.

Nicki Minaj is not a typical rapper. She's not even a typical female rapper. There is something very different about the way she rhymes, and I'm becoming more and more obsessed with it. On top of that, her lyrics are pop culturally relevant which always makes me happy. She also has a unique sense of style about her. To top it off she has crazy eyes which I love.

I'm going to keep trying to figure out what specifically makes me like her so much, but until then here are some songs on which she's been featured and in which she outshines the main talent.

It's technically a new day so I'm not going to feel bad about writing about Glee right now. Big news, and yet again it comes from Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly. According to Mr. Spoiler himself, its in the works to have Neil Patrick Harris guest star on Glee. Not only that but he would be on the episode during May sweeps which will be directed by wait for it... Joss Whedon. That's right bitches, Dr. Horrible reunion, and it will be LEGENDARY!

The deal is not finalized yet. Because NPH is on How I Met Your Mother and CBS has to approve the guest appearance. That's the only thing that could go wrong because both shows are produced by 20th Century Fox. Yet again I am beyond stoked for Glee to come back from hiatus, and beyond miserable because it won't be until April. DAMMIT!

I don't remember if I ever reported on this, but Alexander Skarsgård and Kate Bosworth are doing it, y'all. The swede and the aussie are starring in the remake of Straw Dogs together and it was rumored that the pair had become a couple. Today Hollywood Life is saying that Alexander and Kate are definitely together.

The couple arrived separately to HBO’s Golden Globes fete Jan. 17 around 10:45. While Alex, 33, schmoozed and mingled, Kate, 27, stood quietly in a corner with her beau’s Blood co-star, Ryan Kwanten. But clearly, after minutes away from his lady, Alex was ready for a taste of her blood. Or her lips. Whatever.

Like the best make-out moment in any movie, the Swedish star strode up to his diminutive gal pal, put her face in his hands and gave her a longgggggggggg, slow kiss. So Hollywood! It was almost like no one else was in the room: they stood in the crowded bar area of the Beverly Hilton’s pool area kissing like the world was going to end. Hot!

Glee Spoilers: Puck and Rachel Reunite, and Kurt Gets A Boyfriend

Last night at the Golden Globes, Ausiello from Entertainment Weekly got some epic spoilers from Glee creator Ryan Murphy about what is coming up for Glee this season and next.

* He’s putting Rachel and Puck back together! “I was really surprised [viewers responded so favorably to that pairing],” he says. “I thought people would find her to be far too irritating for him. But by the time [we heard that feedback], we had already shot the first 13 [episodes]. But because I read that — in your column, actually, so you get the blame — I was like, ‘I’m going to get them together in some way.’ So we just finished [writing] a special episode where they are together, and they have two numbers together. It’s episode 4, ‘Bad Reputation.’”

* The upcoming Madonna episode deserves to be called “very special.” “It’s big… huge. We’re shooting it now. It’s got like 10 numbers in it, and the production value is very big. We adore her and worship her, so when I’m directing, I’m always like, ‘Do it for Madonna.’” (Ed. note: Murphy wouldn’t say which Madge tune Jane Lynch’s Sue would be doing, but I can confirm that it’s “Vogue.”)

* Kurt’s gonna get lucky. “We just announced we’re doing a nationwide search for the season 2 cast, and [a boyfriend for Kurt is] one of the three roles that we’re adding. And we’re going to make them a power couple. We’re not going to do the whole hiding in the shadows thing. We’re going to make them popular, and out and proud and glamorous. Like prom king and king. We’re doing the opposite of what’s been done.” But wait, there’s more: “We’re also casting sort of a Eve Harrington [from All About Eve] to kind of steal Rachel’s thunder a little. So those are two of the three.”

* He’s gonna keep us seeing stars. “We got Olivia [Newton-John],” he recounts. “She’s going to come on and do ‘Physical’ with Jane Lynch. Jennifer Lopez wants to do the show, so I’m going to meet with her. In the past couple of months, a lot of people are coming out saying they love the show and would I meet with them and write something. But I don’t want to stunt-cast too much, because I think the [musical] numbers are already so extravagant. If I do Jennifer, I would want her to be, like, a lunch lady. And [exec producer] Brad Falchuk is obsessed with having Bruce Springsteen on the show, so I’m sure we’ll go after him at some point."

UHHH! This is so unfair. Glee doesn't come back from hiatus until April and then we have to wait several more months for season two. Why do I read spoilers? They just make me more miserable.

2010 Golden Globe Award Winners

Just so you know, I get excited for any type of award show. I have since I was a little kid. That being said there are award shows I like more then others. The Golden Globes is the movie award show I like the least. For those of you who do not know, the Golden Globes are presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), a group of foreign journalists who report on movies and television shows to their respective countries. The HFPA does not include all foreign journalists, it only consists of about 95 members and they are very elitist. The HFPA only allows five new members a year and any of those candidates can be vetoed by a member of the HFPA. In other words, the Hollywood Foreign Press can be very biased. Rumors of nominations and awards being bought have plagued the Golden Globes. Even this year there was a rumor that Leonardo DiCaprio gave the members of the HFPA Blu-ray players on behalf of his best friend, Toby Maguire in order to get Toby nominated for his role in brothers. For these reasons I much prefer the Academy Awards to the Golden Globe Awards, but it is an award show so I watched it regardless. Here are the winners.

Best Actress in a TV Series Drama: Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife A lot of people were pulling for January Jones, Mad Men or Anna Paquin, True Blood in this category but I'm really happy the award went to Julianna Margulies. The Good Wife is such an excellent new drama and Julianna is fantastic on the show. Hopefully with this attention, more people will start watching the show.

Best Actress in a TV Series Drama: Michael C. Hall, Dexter
I was so happy to see Michael C. Hall to win for Dexter. This passed season he was extraordinary. I was also happy to see him accept his award. Recently Michael C Hall announced that he was recovering from Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Best Original Song for Motion Picture: “The Weary King,” Crazy Heart

Best Mini-Series or TV Movie: Grey Gardens
I was so happy to see Grey Gardens win this award. Made for TV Movies have come such a long way and Grey Gardens definitely raised the bar.

I love 30 Rock and I love Alec Baldwins character on the show, but I'm shocked that the Golden Globe did not go to Matthew Morrison for Glee. Typically, the Hollywood Foreign Press likes to award new shows, but for the third time, Alec Baldwin took home the award for 30 Rock.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series (Musical or Comedy) - Toni Collette for 'United States of Tara'
Though a little part of me wanted Lea Michele to win for Glee, an even bigger part of me wanted Toni Collette to win for United States of Tara.

Best Screenplay – Motion Picture – Up in the Air’s Jason Reitman, Sheldon Turner
Unlike most movie award shows, the Golden Globes only has one award for Screenplays, which means original screenplays and adapted screenplays compete against each other. I'm a big fan of all the movies that were nominated in this category this year, but I'm glad it went to Up in the Air. Up in the Air is such a great movie because of the story and dialog, and Im glad it received acknowledgment for that.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television- Drew Barrymore for Grey Gardens
Jessica Lange won the Emmy for Grey Gardens, so I'm glad that Drew won the Golden Globe for Grey Gardens. They were both fantastic!

Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television-Kevin Bacon for Taking Chance

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy)-Meryl Streep for Julie & Julia
I love Meryl Streep. I'm a fan of anything she does, and it's not because of her. It's because of her excellent work and her ability to portray roles of interesting people. She wins awards because she's good at what she does, not because she's Meryl Streep.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture in a Musical or Comedy – Robert Downey Jr. for Sherlock Holmes (2009)
Yet another upset for me. No, Robert Downey Jr. did not deserve this award. I haven't seen Sherlocke Holmes yet because it isn't even on my Oscar radar. Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Michael Stuhlbarg should have won that award.

Best Television Series (Drama)-Mad Men
If anything was obvious about the Golden Globes this year, it was that Mad Men was going to take best drama for the third year in a row. After that epic season last year, how could they not?

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role Series, Mini-Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television – Chloë Sevigny for ‘Big Love’
I was pissed off when this happened. I really really thought that Jane Lynch would win for Glee. She definitely deserved it over Chloë Sevigny, who gave the most obnoxious speech of the night after she whined about how her escort accidentally steppped on her fugly dress! Pouring salt in the wound.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role Series, Mini-Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television –John Lithgow for 'Dexter'

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture -Christoph Waltz for Inglourious Basterds
Totally deserving! Inglourous Basterds was definitely an ensemble piece, but Christoph Waltz was obviously the strongest performance in that cast.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture -Mo'Nique for Precious
Mo'Nique is well on her way towards winning an Oscar for her role in Precious. On her way I suspect that she will pick up a SAG Award and an Independent Spirit Award. It would not shock me if she swept that category this year because her performance in Precious was epic.

Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy – The Hangover
This was another upset for me. I think The Hangover has received enough recognition. There were other great comedy films this year, specifically (500) Days of Summer which I think was so much better than The Hangover.

Best Motion Picture – Drama – Avatar

Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy – Glee
Finally some recognition!

Best Director – Motion Picture – James Cameron for Avatar
I really loved Avatar. Some critics are saying that the movie suffered from the special effects taking over the story, but they are idiots. The special effects in Avatar make it a great experience, but the story, and the acting make it a great movie. I was moved by the message in the story, and those that missed that message lack the emotional depth. One of the messages in Avatar is seeing passed the physical to whats within and important. You must admire Avatar for its innovation but more importantly see passed that in to what is profound.

Best Animated Motion Picture – Up
Up winning best animated film is a no-brainer. Personally, I think it might be the best animated film ever. Never has there been a animated film that has so much, but still works for children. On top of that I am campaigning for Up to win best picture at the Oscars. This year the Best Picture category will have ten nominations. I hope that Up is one of them, and I hope it wins.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama– Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side
I was so shocked that Sandra Bullock won this award. I definitely thought that she should be nominated because she was great in The Blind Side, but I think there were better performances last year. Emily Blunt, Gabourey Sidibe, and Carey Mulligan were brilliant in their roles.

Adam Lambert Thinks American Idol Can Survive Without Simon aka Adam Lambert Is Wrong

Adam Lambert appeared on Oprah a couple months ago via skype, but recently Adam sat down with Oprah for an in-person interview. During the interview Oprah asked Adam if he thinks American Idol will survive without Simon Cowell.

“Ultimately, after the first couple weeks of auditions, the audience tunes in every week for the contestants,” Lambert reveals to Oprah. “[Audiences] grow fond of one or a couple of the people and they get behind them, and they’re invested in them. And of course, it’s great to hear… what Simon’s going to say. But we tune in to hear the contestants blossom or not.”

“The contestants will miss out on, like, really honest criticism. Sometimes it can be a little personal, and I know other contestants took it to heart sometimes and got really stressed out about what he would say…[But] I think that that’s important to making you a better performer… You’ve got to hear the good and the bad.”

It was recently announced that the current season of American Idol will be the last season for judge and show producer, Simon Cowell. Simon will be leaving the show to bring his American-Idol-like show, X-Factor to America,. What Adam and everyone else fails to realize is that American Idol is not only losing it's best judge, it's also losing one of it's best producers. One of Idol's producers, Nigel Lythgoe left last year to focus all his energy on So You Think You Can Dance, and now the show is losing Simon to X-Factor. Trust me when I say that American Idol will not survive next year. Do not worry, though. X-Factor is a really good show and it will be Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest free, which makes me giddy at the thought.

I have to keep it real. When Adam Lambert was on American Idol I was a fan, but now that he is a musical artist putting out his own music I've come to the realization that I am no longer a fan of his. I don't really like his music, he's not that intelligent, and he's kinda whiny.

5! For Your Life: Movies of 2009

I'm back and I'm kicking off 2010 with 5! For Your Life 2009. Today's post is about the five movies of 2009 that I thought were better than the rest.

Inglourious Basterds - I'm a sucker for anything Quentin Tarantino. Simply put, he makes my taco pop. So it was a given that I would see Inglourious Basterds when it came out. What I didn't expect was that I would pay to see it twice. The acting in Basterds is ridiculously awesome, but I think its silly to pick one person out. This is clearly an ensemble piece in which one actors role is built off another. But I suppose if I did have to pick out one person it would be Christoph Waltz. Hans Landa scared the shit out of me and amused me at the same time. That's a hard thing to do! When it's Oscar time my prediction is that Inglourious Basterds will probably be nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Christop as well as Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for Quentin.

Avatar - What can I say about Avatar? It blew my mind. After hearing all the hype and seeing all the press for this movie, I still did not expect myself to come out of the theater an unabashed fan, but I did. I keep hearing critics of Avatar saying that without the 3D and the special effects, Avatar would be a mediocre film. Can't the same thing be said about any other film. If you took the pithy dialog away from Up in the Air, it would be boring, right? Think Avatar haters think that special effects and 3D are superficial elements to a film, and maybe in the past there were, but we've come to a new time in film making when new technology is not just the cherry on top. Technology is now an important piece of the fucking sundae, and that is why Avatar is fantastic.

Star Trek - I am not a trekkie. I have never watched an episode of Star Trek, nor have I ever wanted to. This in itself explains why JJ Abrams reboot of the Star Trek franchise is amazing. It drew me in even though I had blatant disdain for the source material. That's some powerful shit. Like Inglourious Basterds, Star Trek is ensemble piece consisting of a cast that was expertly chosen. On top of that Star Trek fans did not hate it!

Up in the Air - The claim to fame that Up in the Air has is it's supporting cast. I'm sorry, George, but Anna Kendrick and Vera Farmiga out shined your pretty ass. Of course there was also the script that was adapted by Jason Reitman who also directed the film. The only explanation I can give to you as to why I loved this film so much is Anna Kendrick. I'm a big creepy fan of her's, That aside, I know there are reasons why this is a good movie, I just can't give you an objective list. Just know that is an excellent film.

Up - Let's talk about the best film of 2009! Up, in my opinion was the best film this year. It has everything romance, death, drama, comedy, suspense. EVERYTHING! And it's pieced seamlessly together. I recently watched Up again since the first time I saw it in theaters this Summer, and I was just in shock all over again. How can anyone not see this is the best film of 2009? I just pray that the academy does not pigeonhole Up as just an animated film. Of course it will win in that category, but it should also be a part of the Best Picture category, and in my opinion it should win.

Runner Ups:

Away We Go: I have no clue why Maya Rudolph is not getting any award attention for her performance in Away We Go. She blew me away! Jon Krasinski wasn't so bad either Not enough attention for such a good movie!

The Young Victoria: I had no clue how much drama was in Queen Victoria's life. The Young Victoria is a beautiful love story and Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend were perfect in their roles.

Precious: I thought Precious was a really good film and I thought the acting was superb, but I never want to see it again. It broke my heart! I also thought it was a little inconsistent in tone. Some parts were obviously funny and some parts were obviously intense, but there were a bunch of moments when you weren't sure how you were supposed to feel. Maybe that is Lee Daniels tactic, but it made me feel uncomfortable and I wanted to leave the theater.

Hump Day: Hump Day is a small independent movie that not a lot of people saw. It's out on DVD now and you can get it on a lot of On Demand services. The movie is about a pair of best friends who dare each other to make a gay porn movie together to enter it in to a local film festival. Yes, it sound weird, but it's hyterical and I highly recommend it.

(500) Days of Summer: FINALLY! A romantic comedy that didn't make me want to kill myself. I thoroughly enjoyed (500) Days of Summer. It was a fresh unique take on romantic comedies. Its definitely a movie I like watching over and over again.

REVIEW! For Your Life: Up in the Air

I was so excited to go see Up in the Air today. There has been so much hype for this movie and it's totally well deserved. I will go see anything that Jason Reitman has a hand in, and when it comes to Up in the Air he co-wrote, directed, and produced the movie. You can definitely see that Reitman has his own aesthetic when it comes to making movies. The last three films he has directed, Up in the Air, Juno, and Thank You for Smoking all have the same look and feel as well as having the same pithy fast paced dialog.

Up in the Air, is about a corporate downsizer names Ryan Bingham, played by George Clooney. Ryan is hired by big companies to fly around the world to fire employees in order to lower legal repercussions for companies. Ryan uses his job to secure frequent flyer miles. His goal is to reach 10 million miles, a record that only 7 people in world have set. Ryan's plans of elite status glory are threatened when Natalie Keener, a young professional played by Anna Kendrick, tries to make flying for the company unnecessary. Her idea is to fire people around the world via video chats. In order for Natalie to become more acquainted with the company, Ryan and Natlie's boss forces Ryan to take Natalie with him across the country to fire people. Meanwhile, Ryan, who struggles with emotional and material connections, falls for a fellow frequent flyer Alex who is played by Vera Farmiga.

The cast of this movie is fantastic! Obviously George Clooney is a pro, so we need not discuss his prowess in this role. We do, on the other hand, have to discuss the lovely Miss. Anna Kendrick. I have been a huge fan of Anna's for a while. A couple years ago she was in this independent movie, Camp. Her role in the movie was small, nevertheless she delivered laughs like Dominoes Pizza. After Camp, Anna starred in Rocket Science, another independent movie, but this time with a bigger role. This is the role that made director Jason Reitman take notice of the pint-sized actress and lead him to write the roll of Natalie for Up in the Air specifically for Anna. Then of course Anna played a small roll in the Twilight films. You might recognize her as Jessica, Bella Swan's envious desperate frienemy. She is definitely a scene stealer in the new Twilight film, New Moon. Anna is getting a lot of attention for her roll in Up in the Air. Recently she has been nominated for a Golden Globe, Critic's Choice Award, Spirit Award, and a Screen Actor's Guild Award. Already she has won the National Board review award for Best Supporting Actress. I have no doubt that Anna will be nominated for an Oscar for her roll in Up in the Air. I am so blown away right now! I just got home from seeing Avatar, and I'm trying to figure out how to tell you all how good it was. It was fantastic!

Avatar tells the story of Jake Sully, a paralyzed Marine. In the beginning Jake's scientist twin-brother is killed and Jake takes his brother's place in the Avatar program on the earth-like planet of Pandora. Pandora is inhabited by a species of blue human-like creatures called the Na'vi. The Avatar program consists of a Na'vi being cloned with the DNA of a human. Once that Na'vi is mature the human that has the same DNA can inhabit the body of the cloned Na'vi. Being that Jake is his brother's identical twin, he can use his brother's Avatar.

I don't want to go too much in to the plot because I don't want to spoil anything. Like I said before, the movie is spectacular. The plot of the movie is fresh and unique, and I find it so unbelievable that James Cameron could muster the creative imagination to create this beautiful new world. The special effects are magnificent, of course. The 3-D technology is really awesome. I've seen movies recently that I didn't think the 3-D really added to, but the 3-D used in Avatar is consuming. I'm not saying that the 3-D is necessary for the movie to be awesome, but I am saying that it definitely adds to the experience.

Before I saw Avatar, I had heard a lot of talk about Sam Worthington, but I hadn't seen any of the movies he was in. I can now see why this actor has been generating so much buzz. Though a CGI representation of Sam is featured in the majority of the movie, his ability as an actor still shines through. The same can be said for Sigourney Weaver and Zoe Saldana. The cast in this movie is solid.

Avatar is truly an experience, and you do not need to be a fan of science fiction to enjoy it. There are elements of this movie for everyone. Romance, action, comedy, and science fiction combine to deliver and extraordinary story that resonates such a powerful message. For your own sake, go see Avatar. I do not want you to miss out.

The rumor claimed that Asher Roth was going to come out of the closet and admit that he was a gay on a E! News Christmas Special. The first time I read it I just rolled my eyes. Asher Roth is so not a 'mo. Even gay men with no sense of style couldn't write the lyrics to I Love College. So I just ignored this rumor, nevertheless some websites picked up the story. Asher is now commenting on the rumor through a statement:

I hate to disappoint and take away the entertainment of it all but I am straight, not gay. It’s disheartening to know such “news” on someone’s personal life can be portrayed as fact with no viable source. This, to me, is an opportunity to expose our vulnerability to lies and manipulation through unprofessional and irresponsible news outlets, in which people consider TRUTH. Further, someone’s sexual orientation should NEVER be big news, as it delivers a troubling message to children that they can’t be themselves without fear of judgment. Race, creed, and sexual persuasion should not just be tolerated but understood and accepted. It’s extremely disappointing that this topic would be used with the intention of being hurtful. We are near 2010….2010!! Yet race, sex and religion still play a major role in a hate driven society. For the love of the future and humanity….let’s wake up.

I have a lot of respect for Asher after reading this mature and open-minded statement. Normally rappers who are on the down-low over compensate their masculinity when accused of gay rumors. This is the complete opposite of Asher's reaction, and if anyone questions his sincerity one will be mistaken.

Yesterday morning beloved actress, Brittany Murphy passed away after suffering a full cardiac arrest. Against her husband's wishes, the LA Country Coroner performed an autopsy on the body of the diseased actress. Preliminary results show that Brittany Murphy died of natural causes. A spokesperson for the Coroner's Office says that there wasn't any physical sign of foul play or trauma, "Naturally occurring diseases could be found in any person that could lead to death," said spokesperson John Kades. The office is till looking in to Brittany's medical history as well as performing toxicology reports. The case will probably be finalized in eight weeks.

Brittany Murphy Update

As I posted earlier, actress Brittany Muprhy passed away this morning after suffering a cardiac arrest. Some more information has come out.

According to TMZ, Brittany's unconscious body was discovered by Brittany's mother in the shower. Sources say that Brittany's mother told paramedics that Brittany had a history of diabetes.

When paramedics arrived they determined that Brittany was in full cardiac arrest and administered CPR. They continued CPR on the way to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. When they arrived she was still unresponsive and she was pronounced dead. LAPD has started a death investigation and has picked up Brittany's body from the hospital.

Other sources for TMZ say that Brittany's husband, Simon Monjack told hospital staff at Cedar-Sinai that he did not want an autopsy performed on his wife. Regardless, the LA Country Coroner's Office will perform an autopsy on Brittany Murphy's body.

I am really saddened by the passing of Brittany Murphy. She's made so many films that I've loved. She had such a bubbly personality that just jumped off screen . Even when she was playing darker rolls like in Don't Say A Word and Girl Interrupted there was definitely something intriguing about her. I hope she's rolling with the hommies in heaven.

Horribly sad news! Actress Brittany Murphy dies this morning at the young age of 32-years-old. TMZ is reporting that the actress went in to full cardiac arrest and could not be revived.

A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ.

We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

This is so sad! I was literally watching Clueless last night. The story is still developing.

I feel like I grew up with Brittany. She was on the Disney show, Almost Home when I was a kid. She also guest appeared on Sister, Sister, Boy Meets World, and Blossom. Then of course she was in Clueless. The story revolves around a young, modern and professional woman who must balance her business and family relationships. She must deal with, and navigate the many ideas of what a woman’s role is: modern vs. traditional.

I'm actually really excited to see what they come up with. Nicole is really funny. If you ever watched the Simple Life, you know Nicole's natural comedic timing is a scene stealer. I think she might be able to pull it off.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon Is Breaking Records

Its not official yet, but allegedly The Twilight Saga: New Moon may have broken the All-Time Midnight Screenings Record. Rival studios are claiming that the Twilight sequel brought in $23-$24 million in midnight screenings last night. This means that New Moon will have beaten Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, $22.2M and the Dark Knight, $18.4M. I believe it. I went to the midnight screening last night and there were hoards of people waiting outside of the theater at 10:00 PM. That is when they let us in to the theater. When we went inside they had 10 screens playing the movie and people were still coming in looking for seats moments before the movie started. It was pandemonium-and really frickin hot! All those teens with their dirty sex-crazed hormones were just filling up the theater with their musky warm vapors. My back was sweating like a whore in church!

Those estimates were actually low! The Twilight Saga: New Moon actually shattered the All-Time Midnight Screenings Record by bringing in $26.27 million. That is HUGE!

Oprah made the official announcement that The Oprah Winfrey Show will be ending in 2011 after 25 season on the air.

“I love this show, this show has been my life,” she said, tears in her eyes. “I love it enough to know when to say goodbye. Twenty five years feels right in my bones and it feels right in my spirit. It’s the perfect number, the exact right time.”

I know there are some of you evil bitches that are celebrating Oprah's end and I want you all to just shut up for a minute. I'm going to miss Oprah. I do not know a world without her. I am 21-years-old and the show has been on for 25 years. It's going to be weird not seeing her everyday. Regardless, she does deserve a break. She has worked her ass off, and she did not have to. She could have stopped years ago, but she kept on with the show because she loves her fans. Now that we know that the end is night, I am expecting big things from the remaining episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show. Especially from the Favorite Things episode and the Oscar Special. You need to deliver like Dominoes, Mamma O.

REVIEW! For Your Life: The Twilight Saga: New Moon

It's 3:15am and I just got home from seeing The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and even though I have to take a Logic Test that I haven't studied for at all in a couple hours, I'm going to write up a review just for you guys.

Just a brief synopsis first: Bella loves Edward. Edward loves Bella. Edward's a vampire that wants to suck Bella's blood whenever she arouses him. Got it? Good. If you didn't already know that, then you probably are not interested in Twilight and subsequently don't give a damn about this review.

For those of you that do care, you are going to be thrilled. New Moon is so much better than Twilight. Though you probably loved the first movie, you have to admit that there were some cringe-worthy cheesy moments. Hold on Spider Monkey? Really? My point is New Moon is cheese free! The new director, Chris Weitz did a fantastic job of taking the awkward out of New Moon. I have to say that I can't totally attribute the improvement to Weitz. The actors of the series have definitely improved since the first film. Kristen Stewart finally stopped biting her lips all the time and delivered a Bella Swan that I could relate to the book. Even though he is absent most of the film, you can tell that Robert Pattinson has improved as well. He is certainly less squinty and stiff. I can't say if Taylor Lautner has improved or not because we really didn't see him that much in Twilight, but one thing I can say is he has definitely grown. Not just in size, but in maturity. Lautner fully commits to his role as Jacob black physically and emotionally. When I was reading the series, I didn't really like Jacob. I always felt that he was a cocky ass hole who felt entitled to Bella's affection. This is not so in the movie. Lautner actually made Jacob endearing in my eyes, a feat that I thought was impossible.

Speaking of the books, when I read New Moon I felt absolutely gutted. Not to spoil it for you, but the story starts out with Edward breaking up with Bella. When the same scene occurred in the movie, those heart wrenching angst-ridden emotions returned in the worst way. Though this may sound depressing, it shows that the movie version of the book not only attempts at being loyal to the source material, but succeeds. And even though the tone of the film is morose and brooding, the style is very warm and bright. This film is far from the dark cold vampiric look of the cool blue focus of Twilight.

Twilight built the skeleton, but New Moon put some meat on the bones. There is so much more action in this sequel. The CGI wolves add a whole new element to the series, as do the Volturi in Italy. When I first saw Dakota Fanning appear as Jane, I had to resist the urge to snap my fingers and say, "Fierce!" She was so perfect for that role, and Michael Sheen as Aro was wickedly awesome. Though their appearance in the film is short, the Italian Vampire Hierarchy delivered like Dominoes.

I don't really need to convince Twilight fans to go see this movie. Most of them already bought tickets weeks ago. I am talking to you, the person on the fence, or you, the person that prematurely picked the anti-sparkling-bloodsucker side of the fence. Give the sequel a chance. The werewolves add a whole new element to this series. New Moon definitely balances the scales between Teenage angst-ridden romance and action-packed thrilling suspense. As for me, I will be seeing this movie again. I have no problem admitting that. Now the third time seeing New Moon, I might just keep that one a secret.

After 25 seasons, The Oprah Winfrey Show will end in 2011. Oprah's production company, Harpo announced that the iconic host will announce the date of the last episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show on tomorrow's live Friday episode.

I can't believe it! It's the end of an era. I'm gonna miss Oprah or as I like to call her, Mamma O. Though the show is ending, I have a feeling we will still see Oprah on OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network. Oprah second foray in to cable television will launch next year after Discovery Health becomes OWN. The new network will be filled with programs featuring some of The Oprah Winfrey Show regulars. I personally hope that Oprah has her own show on OWN.

Curve is a magazine for ladies who love ladies and Courtenay Semel is definitely of that audience. To be more specific Courtenay was in to Tila Tequila, and heiress Casey Johnson. The relationship with Casey ended after Courtenay lit Casey's hair on fire. No, really, IT HAPPENED!

Courtenay was also best friends with our favorite train wreck, Lindsay Lohan. "I would like to say that Lindsay and I would make a really hot couple, but unfortunately we were best friends and the media kind of ruined that relationship," Semel tells the magazine, which hits newsstands Nov. 24. "Let's put it this way, it's kind of like another one of ... my little frenemies out there was protecting their own self and their own relationship and threw us under the bus. But, for me, it was like, I would go to an event and they would start to say, 'So you and Lindsay aren't friends anymore,' and I'm like, 'Oh, really? That's news to me.'"

And as for reports that quoted Semel saying she was Lohan's "first lesbian lover and Samatha Ronson stole her away from me," Semel, the daughter of former Yahoo! CEO Terry Semel, says, "None of that was actually true."

Lesbians are so confusing! What I think Goomba is suggesting is that Samantha and Lindsay had been together a lot longer than the public actually knew about and that Sam made it seem like Lindsay was actually hooking up with Courtenay when Sam was the the one snacking on that gingersnap. Right? Whatever! You know the lesbians over at Curve only put Courtenay on the cover so they could get the details on the Lindsay. I do not blame them!

Do Not Compare Martha Stewart to Rachael Ray

Any of my friends will tell you, I am obsessed with Martha Stewart. I love how she's a bitch and doesn't apologize for it. I love how she flirts with her male guests. I love how she's a total know it all. I just love her, and the smack she talking about Rachael Ray is just adding to my adoration.

Martha recently taped a interview with Nightline to talk about how she's rebuilding her brand since being released from jail. In the interview Martha makes so not-so-nice comments about fellow culinary talk-show host Rachael Ray.

"Well, to me, she professed that she could -- cannot bake," Stewart says of Ray in the interview, airing Thursday. "She -- just did a new cookbook which is just a re-edit of a lot of her old recipes. She -- and that's not good enough for me."

When it comes to writing a book, Stewart says she want to publish something that "is a unique and lasting thing. Something that will really fulfill a need in someone's library." Ray, she says, "is different."

Stewart says Ray is "more of an entertainer ... with her bubbly personality, than she is a teacher, like me. That's not what she's professing to be."

These statements are even funnier considering that Rachel was just on Martha Stewart last week. I was even going to bake the pie they made for Thanksgiving. Its Blackberry Apple in case you were wondering.

I love Rachael Rays recipe's but I can not watch her show. Anyone who talks so loud that they constantly have that sore-throat-voice annoys the shit out of me. Speak softer dammit! That's why you have microphones. She's also way too nice, and that is why Rachel had nothing but nice things to say about Martha when she heard what Martha said.

"Why would it make me mad?" Ray asks. "Her skill set is far beyond mine. That's simply the reality of it."

Ray adds that "that doesn't mean that what I do isn't important too... I don't consider it needling. I really just think she's being honest. She does have a better skill set than I do when it comes to producing a beautiful, perfect, high-quality meal." Says Ray, "I'd rather eat Martha's than mine, too."

Why would it make you mad, Rachael? Um, basically because she said that you're a no talent hack!

I started watching Mercy and for some reason I stopped! Whatever, its still on my TiVo. Anyway, Teresa and Jacqueline from the Real Housewives of New Jersey make a cameo on tonight's episode of Mercy and are great! Who knew sweet Jacqueline could play a Jersey bitch. She was always the least Jersey of all the wives and she's the best in this cameo!

"Britney Spears will release the follow-up to 2008’s Circus in late spring 2010, it has been confirmed. According to her record label Jive, the singer is working towards a May release for her seventh studio album. I'm really surprised that Britney isn't taking a break. She just finished her Circus tour and now she's gearing up for a whole new album! I'm not complaining though.

Normally I hate wedding movies, but by the cast of The Romantics, I can tell I like this one. The movie is about a group of friends reuniting at a wedding. The movie stars Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Katie Holmes, Adam Brody, Diana Agron (Quinn from Glee), Malin Akerman, and Elijah Wood. I'm hoping that this movie full of actor I like doesn't dissapoint the hell out of me.
